How accurate are BOMwise's component alternatives?
Every alternative is scored across four axes — footprint, electrical, firmware, and certification — and tagged as drop-in, firmware-tweak, layout-change, or redesign. We index 12M+ components from manufacturer datasheets and supplier feeds, and we never surface a part that doesn't pass your certification stack. You stay in control: you accept or reject every swap.
What file formats do you support?
Excel (.xlsx, .xls), CSV, Altium .BomDoc, KiCad .csv, OrCAD .bom, and most supplier-flavor exports. Even messy formats with merged cells and inconsistent MPN columns get normalized automatically by our parser.
Which certifications does BOMwise check against?
AEC-Q100/Q200 (automotive), IATF 16949, RoHS, REACH, FCC, CE, IEC 61131-2, UL 508, and ISO 13485 (medical). Custom certification profiles are available on the Enterprise plan.
How does BOMwise compare to Octopart, SiliconExpert, or Z2Data?
Those are component databases — they show you what exists. BOMwise is an AI optimizer — it tells you what to do. We start with your specific BOM, your certs, and your production volume, then surface a ranked, actionable savings report in 60 seconds. Most teams use both.
Is my BOM data private?
Yes. Your BOMs are encrypted at rest, never used to train shared models, and never shared with any supplier. Enterprise customers can run on a dedicated tenant or on-premise component index.
Do you integrate with our PLM or ERP?
Direct integrations with Altium 365, Arena, and SAP are on the roadmap for 2026 H2. Until then, exports work cleanly with any PLM/ERP that ingests CSV, JSON, or PDF audit reports.
